What were your duties as an NCLA intern? So far, I’ve conducted research on niche legal issues pertaining to some of our current cases and proofread over attorney documents before submitting them to court.

What did you most enjoy about your internship? I enjoy working in an environment where each employee is passionate about NCLA’s mission—you can tell that these people enjoy coming to work! The people are great, and the snacks are top-notch.

What interesting thing(s) did you learn about Administrative Law? Administrative agencies always win! (Until we come along …)

How might you use what you’ve learned later in your professional career? I’ve gained a strong base-level knowledge of administrative law that will come in handy at any point in my career. I’ve become a stronger writer and strategic thinker which are skills I hope to carry with me throughout my career as an attorney.

Any advice for other students who want to intern at NCLA in the future? Do it! The NCLA staff really wants you to leave the internship with tangible writing samples and work product, which is really valuable. Take the opportunity to work for an organization that is goal-oriented, and while you’re here, go explore DC!
