What were your duties as an NCLA intern? Wrestling with very weighty constitutional issues in Supreme Court amici! – and working on matters that tended to find their way on the front page of the Washington Post.
What did you most enjoy about your internship? The lawyers here are brilliant. I walked in as a sponge, and learned more in 10 weeks than I did in any class in law school.
What interesting thing(s) did you learn about administrative law? There are real people going through these complex administrative processes – a very different feeling than plowing through cases and sifting through holdings as a 1L.
How might you use what you’ve learned later in your professional career? I already have – many meaty experiences to discuss during my interview process.
Any advice for other students who want to intern at NCLA in the future? Read about some of the clients NCLA has taken on. That’s what fuels the passion for the Summer.
