Hobbies: I like to research public policy and write commentaries and policy analyses. I really enjoy when you can take an otherwise complicated topic and make it accessible to all!

What were your duties as an NCLA intern? My duties included legal research, as well as editing briefs for both technical and substantive issues.

What did you most enjoy about your internship? I most enjoyed working for an organization that makes a concrete difference in the world by defending those who have had their rights violated by the government, and who would otherwise be unable to defend themselves without the pro bono help of the NCLA!

What interesting thing(s) did you learn about Administrative Law?  I was most surprised to learn that the Administrative State has all the hallmarks of a tyrannical regime, in that a single agency can both write and enforce the laws, while also acting as judge to determine whether one has violated its own, agency-made rules!

Any advice for other students who want to intern at NCLA in the future? NCLA is a great fit for any law student who wants real-world experience in defending constitutional rights.
