What were your duties as an NCLA intern? As an intern to the Director of Engagement, I helped promote NCLA’s summer clerkship program, student notes competition, Lunch and Law events, and organize case documents and amicus briefs.

What did you most enjoy about your internship? Working alongside the litigators and other staff members at NCLA was a truly edifying experience that provided me the opportunity to see the actual work, procedures, and steps that go into litigating cases and submitting amicus briefs.

How might you use what you’ve learned later in your professional career? As an undergraduate who’s interested in public-interest litigation and defending the constitutional rights of Americans, I am certain I’ll apply what I’ve learned about administrative law, non-delegation, and judicial deference if I go to law school in a couple years.

Any advice for other students who want to intern at NCLA in the future? Working at NCLA is an exciting professional experience where you’ll learn a lot, grow intellectually, and make wonderful friends of your colleagues. Not only is NCLA a top-notch non-profit law firm, but a warm, friendly environment in which everyone enjoys working and socializing with each other.
