A civil liberties legal interest group is asking a federal judge in Georgia to block the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s order halting evictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, saying that property owners are having their constitutional rights violated—and being left with the tab for the coronavirus pandemic.
Lawyers argued the point in a Zoom hearing Tuesday morning before Northern District of Georgia Judge J.P. Boulee.
